Behind The Scenes At UFC BJJ

SPEAKER_00

Behind the scenes at UFC BJJ. I was there and I have seen, learned, and gathered insight. It was an incredible experience, Joe. It's uh it's disappointing that the biggest event in jiu-jitsu that you attended, uh sorry, in the world of fighting rather, has now been overshadowed by Freedom 250. But if we can take ourselves back to before the White House UFC event, well there was UFC BJJ with JT in the his house. Well, I was I was in the very much background, but I got to see behind the scenes. So I have some insight which makes me uh feel very good about how athletes are getting treated. Because I'm I think this is the the crux of why athletes want to go to UFC BJJ. As much as Craig can say what he wants and other people say what they want. I'm telling you, the UFC looks after their athletes 100. I talked to the Tackets, I talked to Algermaine Sterling, I was at the UFC PI, I got to see firsthand exactly how everyone gets looked after, and it was amazing. Straight up, and uh I'm happy to give all of the details.

Streaming Access And Subscription Friction

SPEAKER_00

So because we did that chat prior to you going away, right? Obviously, our our learned friend, uh Benny Partisan, is not a fan of multiple subscriptions, whatever that looks like. But in the USA, they were streaming it uh free on YouTube, right? So I couldn't imagine why. It's kind of cool. Yeah, so in that way, um, as much as people might have fight pass, a lot of people were just watching it for free. For now, we'll see where it goes. Yeah, the whole fight pass thing is weird. I think just because they got bought by Paramount or whatever, that's right. I did that deal. But but in any case, yeah, it doesn't it doesn't seem super hard to be able to watch. No. The tricky part though is that people are just used to having flow grappling or whatever. Of course, yeah, and just accessing.

Inside The UFC Performance Institute

SPEAKER_00

But mate, what was incredibly interesting was how easy the UFC made it for the athletes. They have a team bus at the hotel, so there's this holiday Holiday and Express, which is very close, it's like five minutes drive to the Meta Apex, which is where they film uh all their kind of um reality TV shows, contender series stuff, UFC BJJ stuff, and that is literally like a block away from the UFC Performance Institute. Right. So in uh in Vegas? Yeah, in Las Vegas. Yeah, and everyone's there, man. It was it was amazing. So I got to go to the Performance Institute. You basically just call up to say, hey, we're coming, and they ask who's coming, and they put you on a little list. You literally get in a big black Mercedes sprinter bus, whatever. It's there all the time. Yeah, they take you across, big security gates. You feel like you're going into like Bruce Wayne's fucking mansion. Sick. It's enormous, the building is colossal. You go around the back, you go in, and uh you know, there might just be Mirab sitting on the couch. You're like, okay, cool. You swipe in kind of like a gym, you've got to check in, they've got to scan your face. But once you're in the system, you they kind of know who you are, and then you can go in. So you immaculate change rooms, you've got these stairs, they've got all the photos of past legends on the wall. You go up, and then you're in the space, and you've probably seen countless bits of footage, and then you know, you've got I don't know, Cody, no love, just I don't know, moi tiny kneeing someone into the wall over there, you're like just footwork drills, footwork, footwork. Right, just I was like, I think he was teaching like a private to two fighters, but he was just beating the shit out of them, nice, which is amazing, and yeah, just because everyone there is elite, everybody's super respectful and super nice, right? So even though I was nobody, everybody was just treating me like he must be someone, yeah. Right. So they're just really friendly. Yeah, uh Tackett's so cool. Like, had such a good chat with those boys. Yeah, which which one do me? We're chatting with uh Andrew. Andrew, yeah. CJR, weren't we? Yeah, the lovely guy. But they're mate, they're both great, like, and even they they have they come across as pretty awesome dudes. No, they're they they they're just having a great time, man. They're loving life, and why wouldn't they be? Like they they train and live in Vegas full time and they're awesome athletes, and they've got a great setup there. Um so you've got um you've got the grapplers in there and you've got the MMA fighters, and everyone's just training it up. Yeah, it's all and is it all basically um fighters with their sort of people, like with their camps, and that's kind of different. There's not like

Training Floor Stories And Athlete Vibes

SPEAKER_00

group stuff going on. No, there is group stuff going on, so they do have scheduled classes which are run by a nominated um either striking coach or grappling coach, and uh we the time so I we rocked up this myself, um uh our camera guy and Devontae, and we were expecting that maybe we could get um uh Herberto uh Jiminez to be there because he's good friends with Devontae and he's a legend. I love that guy, and he just he couldn't come across. So then um Devontae's like, you're up, bro. And I was like, Oh good lord, I'm suiting up, and he had to burn some energy, man. And he burned some energy, yeah, and I took a fucking beating. First five minutes, I'm like, I can hang with this guy. I'm I'm stronger than this guy. And I was like, he wasn't trying. Fuck. And then he started just putting it on me, bro. Have you got weight on him? Uh no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I mean, he was cutting from he was cutting from like a weight of like a hundred and fifty. Have you got weight on him? After weight, after he cut weight, yes. He was so feeble I had to carry him inside at that time. No, not at that time, because he was trying to lose weight. This is like a couple days before the thing. What are you what are you at the moment? At the moment, I'm about 95, 96. Fuck yeah, corn fed. Corn fed, bro. But um, you know, Devontae cut more than 20 pounds. Wow. And that was phenomenal to watch. Yeah. And so there was a it's a lot of weight. It's a very strict for a guy that's he's I'm guessing he's not carrying a lot of fat. No, he's lean even when he is walking around at like 240 pounds, like he's just ultra jacked. But um basically being there on that mat, uh, there's with the USC BJJ, everyone's staying in the same hotel. So Mason Fowler was also there. Right. Uh the uh Devontae was the challenger and and Mason was the champion. Anyway, they're on the same mat, so it's kind of like what are they doing? You know, like it's it's it's kind of like that, but everyone's cool. No one, there's no everyone's super friendly and uh it was rad, man. Like Achilles Rocher was there, he was there with um fuck that dude got big. Bro, he's so young. I mean, but he's so swallowed now. Yeah, yeah, he looks like he's henched out. Puffy. He's henched out. Yeah, wow. He's man to chat to like a never had to roll with the guy. He seems like a real um brutal man to roll with, but he's very nice to just chat to. I know that uh our friend Sebastian Attard would not love that, but he's Achilles is fine, like you know what I mean. Like he he he his sister was there. You do you often ascribe, like do you often think that based on someone's jujitsu style, that tells you a little bit about what they now? A little bit, but no, but when you know when you see someone just be so brutal, you're like, oh yeah, but he's fucking Wagner's son. He is, and he's the most evil cunt ever on the mats. Yeah, I'm sure he's a lovely bloke. Well, I I can't speak to either. I all I'd say is I've I've only just I've met Wagner in person, had very little chat with him, and he's like a he's very revered. You can't, you know what I mean? Like he walks around like a like a godfather, so you just you just treat accordingly, right? And um, yeah, I mean I think the overall experience, like Al Germaine Sterling was at the PI and he was just kind of chilling and he was wearing his I think he's got a rum brand. So he's got this chain, like a very blingy diamond chain with like funky rum or funky harbour rum or whatever, like in Boston. That's so American. And he had the brazen, he's but he's so charismatic, dude. Yeah, he's so charismatic. I was just like, Do you remember that post-fight press conference where um I'm sure I've mentioned this before, where Algermaine's like kind of trying to promo the next one, and he's like blah blah blah, and he's you know, he's kind of like spit, like you know, he's trying to talk fast and like sound cool and shit. And he's like, blah, blah, blah, come fucking 16th August. I'm coming in that ass. I'm coming for that ass. He said no, sorry, he said, I'm coming on that ass, and then corrected, I'm coming for that ass. Hey man, take it up within the fucking I would I wouldn't fucking knife's edge that we walk. I would not say boo to Alger Main Silling. One, he's super nice, two, he's a bad ass. So I was just like, in the same way, I I should not have got the level of respect I received. Everyone in there is cool. So the the PI is very impressive to be there. You're like, wow, this feels fucking professional. And you can just be there, you just go there and do whatever you want. They've got a fucking cafeteria, you go around the corner, that's where all the UFC staff are. Like the fighters eat for free, basically, if they're like on contract and doing whatever, they have meals prepared for them and stuff. Like, can you eat the free meals or do you gotta pay? I was not a part of that. Okay, right. But mate, I wasn't there for the meals, I was just checking out the gym, like

Weight Cut Reality With Devontae

SPEAKER_00

fuck, look at this. And um it's pretty sick though. Oh, it's amazing. It was amazing. Yeah, they got saunas, they got uh hot pools, they've even got like a resisted pool. So you can like mad jets, but you can kind of do resisted running and walking against it and waking up. Inspired by GSP. Mate, it was it was fucking cool. But for whatever reason, Devontae decided, man, he really was not loving the hot bath scenario. He's like, no, let's walk around the fucking car park. So he's in a sweatsuit, it's fucking 40 degrees Celsius plus in the desert, and he's like, Yeah, so gross out there. This let's do it. And so we're just walking around, cutting laps around the the UFC Performance Institute for hours, and it worked. Like every time we'd do a lap, he'd lose a pound. So we were just doing these laps, bro. And I mean, I was having a hard time and I was able to drink water. Honestly, by the last couple laps, he's like, I need to lie down. I'm like, no, you can't lie down, bro. There's no shade, there's nowhere to hide, it's just car park. I was like, I'll help you. He's like, I can't keep water like there was just moments where he he didn't complain, but you it he was wearing down, you know, like when you get into the last couple of pounds, it brutal, and he got there. He he fucking got there. Was he wearing like a sweatsuit? Yeah, he's wearing a full sweatsuit. So how do you measure when you you stay in the suit? We would go strip the suit off, go stand on the scale, come back, kind of towel the suit off and go again. Wow, dude, did that yeah, uh three or four times over the space of about four hours. Hey, if I can give you my honest recommendation for one of the best supplements I've implemented in my daily, particularly for my jujitsu training, it's sodium. It's these electrolytes. We talk about them all the time. They've sponsored the show for some time, but it's excellent. Flavor's great, but more importantly, the electrolytes are exactly what my body wants in a hard, sweaty jujitsu session. It replenishes uh my system with all the stuff that I need after all of that sweat. Uh, magnesium, potassium, salt, it's great stuff. You can get yourself a bunch and you can get yourself a discount if you go to sodi sodoui.com.au and you use the code bulletproof15, you get 15% off your order. You might ask yourself, why do I look like John Danaher in the recording booth? Because I'm rocking my alchemical, beautiful hemp gi. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a world first. It's lightweight, the hemp feel is immaculate. And that's the thing I want to get to. Not only does it feel amazing, but under pressure, this gi stands up. Lightweight, dries quickly, and no stink. This is the amazing thing. I'm a sweaty guy. You put this thing in a bag full of sweat, you get it out, you put it through the wash, it does not stink. It feels amazing, it smells amazing, and it's good for you too. You're not soaked in plastic, you're not using artificial chemicals, and you're not using cotton that is destroying the environment. These hemp geese from Alchemical are something you have to feel to know the difference. Go to alchemicalflightware.com.au and use the code bulletproof and you will get 15%

Match Day Emotions And Mental Load

SPEAKER_00

Now, he didn't have the performance any of us hoped. No, so he was very well physically prepared, but there was a very serious family incident um the night before the event. That's rough. And uh, you know, I'm not it's not it's not it's not my place to talk about. Of course. Um, but yeah, that straight away that threw him off kilter. He was like feeling good, feeling calm. The the like so the media for the weigh-in and everything was real, and so people might be aware that Mason Fowler likes to try and kiss people. Devonta don't play that. Oh, that was he tries to that's what he did at the end of the yeah, and Devontae said to me, if he tries to kiss me, I'm gonna fucking hit him with the left hook. And I was like, I'll jump in. I'm I am in. I am in for an all-out brawl. JT's like dog shot Mason Fowler for you, brother. No, I was like, who'd he bring? Coyote, man, fuck that guy. Me versus Coyote, fucking Kayleck. This fucking people's elbow dropping chairs on people. Like, but they have security there. Mason tried to kiss him, right? Yeah, he did, but then but He gave him a big shove, didn't he? Big shove, and and I actually think he stayed quite calm. Like, Devontae's not he he's a lovely guy and he'll have a joke, but he if he's not your mate, I I wouldn't try and do anything to him. Yeah, right. So anyway, it would be Do you think the weight cut played a part in the performance at all? No, no, he's done it before. He's actually very good at it, and he rehydrated so well. Like he was almost back up to like, I don't know, 110 kilos. Like he wow, put the weight straight back on. Very well managed by his nutritionist shout out, Peter J Nutrition, sub Jay. Um very well managed. Jay, my boys come back from the States looking all puffy. How much fucking corn do you feed this guy? Jay. But uh here's the hardest thing about all of it. We all had very high expectations, and I believe Devontae did too, that he would have the physical size and still have the skills to be able to deal with Mason. And um, in in the um, you know, he in the moment he was not there mentally, uh, in all truth. And it it's it's hard. I can I'm in no place to judge. He had some very serious um family stuff going on, which no one's aware of, and um he he was on the phone nonstop. Mate, it's so brutal, right? Like you just you think about it from like you just it's easy to be a fan of sports and to watch and just like not understand that they're just normal people going through normal stuff, yeah. And that if it just so happens that shh, whatever you don't show up on the day for whatever reason, yeah, you fucking lose. Yeah, and it's like and that can like you're just like fuck, there's so much on the line, right? Like for him to win that would have been a a big thing for his career, right? Yeah, but I think also the thing that comes with I I cannot appreciate this because I've never done anything remotely as achieved as what these guys have done. When you've won multiple world championships or Europeans, or like you you are so established, I think accepting a loss is more it's more part of it, if that makes sense. Like after obviously huge disappointment, but we all went back to the hotel. Herberto was there, his brother Mateus was there. Um because he trains with Herberto, uh, yeah, they've trained a lot, they've trained a lot, and and they're just type mates, and they're both cool guys. And so um I think they came up a fair bit training together in the Ghee. Right. Back around the purple brown belt days. But and and uh Marilla Santana was there, and he was surprisingly very level and chill. Wow. And and I man, like he he Did he have the deep voice the whole time? A hundred percent. That is that is who he is. So it's it's their inbuilt bro. Wow. It is the deepest voice. It's it's rivals a Fabio Grigel type voice. Wow. It's just I don't know. Some voice so much testosterone or what it is, but he's he sounds like a villain. Yeah. But I don't know. We just we we went back to the hotel, it was kind of like commiserations. You know, people just kind of told some stories to try to make light of it, even though there's tragedy breaking in the background, and and then the next day it was all over. Did you go any other beers? Um, not at all. No, it was nothing like that, man. It was as much quieter. The circumstance was the loss was nothing compared to what else was going on. Okay. So therefore, it didn't matter. Yeah, right. So that's how it went, man.

Meeting Fighters And Media Moments

SPEAKER_00

But I was very like, I met Claudia Godella. Oh yeah. She's a serious woman. I like Claudia, I like her vibe. She's got a strong handshake, bro. Yeah. Her neck is thicker than mine. Bro, I'm mate. Her fucking strong, bro. Yeah, I'll bet. I just I met her very briefly in the day before media, and she just like shook my hand and looked me in the eye, like seeing if there was weakness, and I was like trying to match her, but also not lose or win at the same time. Like, didn't want to seem to be like, you're a lightweight female, I'll crush your hand. But she was like, she definitely I had to I had to match and mirror. Yeah. Um, but she's very serious, fire with fire, serious lady. Um, but the media was great. I I got to have a good chat with Dorino, Gilbert Burns. Nah, man, he's the best. I fucking love that guy. He's the best, man. We're on the bus with him going over for the um for the media, and um he's chilling, man. Like he's he was so happy to just do jujitsu. Is he performed? He was on that event on that card, dude. Took the bag, choked the fella, and he was just talking about how much of a relief it was to not get punched. Like he was just like, I'm just doing jujitsu again. This is fun. Yeah, he's like, Do you know how good this is? Like he it was like a genuine joy and an element of just relief. Yeah, it's not that it's not serious, but it's not it's not the same as like getting your nose broken, yeah, this kind of stuff. Yeah. Interesting thing about the bowl, it is made out of kind of tatami matte material. Right. So even the sides are like kind of material. It was quite it was quite unique to go up to the bowl. It's not just like a vinyl thing with a text, no, it's like a like a material. It's like it's like it's almost like it feels like your shirt in a way. But it's it's awesome, it's very impressive. Everybody was like, oh, this is sick. Yeah. Um yeah, Fionn, very nice in person. She was there with her two friends, and that was cool. Man, I saw so many competitions. Yeah, she she competed well. No, no, no. She she competed, you know, she's fucking Fionn, right? Like what did she retire from? Did she retire from ADCC or something? I don't, I'm not 100% sure. I thought she announced some kind of retirement recently. Could have got that wrong. She may have, but she had a match she did lose not that long ago, and then she's come back and she killed it. I don't know if she's in a lighter weight category, she looks so slim. Yeah, wow. But yeah, she's she's so her internet persona is so different to who she is in person. Like she's such a polite kind of you know, uh UK gal. She comes across that way on the internet, at least from what I've seen. Well, it depends on the interview, I guess, and the context. Yeah, yeah. No, she I mean, I've never seen anything that doesn't seem quite lovely about her. I met her when um when she was in Sydney at Subversion, right? Real quick. I mean, it was just after the match, but yeah, she was she was friendly as fuck. Yeah, she's cool, and her her mates are lovely. Um the Tackets were cool, man. I met Cody Steele. He's did you talk to him about briefly the problems you've had with his social media activity? No, so hey Cody. I was like, no, well, he's he's also I get the sense like there's a bit of a edge to him. No, no, not that he was unfriendly, but I'm like, hmm, I feel like he would take me to Suplex City if I accidentally brushed his hair wrong. Like, Cody's don't fuck around with Cody Steel, man. Like he was there with the Tackets, and the Tackets are cool because they were like, Oh, hey, what's up, man? Because they'd he's in MMA now, isn't he? Yeah, he's crushing, isn't he? He's doing very well. Yeah, and I mean he's an athletic beast. He sort of came to prominence during that notorious ADCC trials, right? Yeah, and he's duplex the guy where J-Rod was kind of peeking, and it was just like all this footage of people just scrapping and and going off the mat, and yeah, yeah, yeah. And yeah, I mean, he's an elite athlete. He's lovely to chat to and just shook his hand and said, What's up? It's like, hey man. But I also got the vibe, like, mmm, like because I'd met the Tackets at the Performance Institute and I'd met them in the context of being with Devontae, um, they were cool with me. You know, they were like, Oh, we know you. Vouch for is one of us. Yeah, yeah, yeah, one of the boys, right? So they were they were just immediately friendly, and he was like, mmm. Like, I don't know. I was just like, cool enough, no problem. But I I also sense like I I wouldn't. You were right to be apprehensive. I would not banter with that man. I don't know, I don't know how well he'd take a joke from a stranger, you'd not have been. Um Jocko. Walked straight into me like he he was avoiding someone else, but he fucking shouldered me. Jocko is thick, dude. You think I'm thick? Jocko's arms are as thick as my torso, I swear to God. Anyway, I had my back to him and he was just coming out. It was after the event, and he he totally sidestepped someone and shouldered me. And I turned around like, what the like, what the f and it and Joko's like, oh hey, and he's like, hey man, like, and like fool gives me like the dap and the hug. He's like, how's training? I'm like, Good. How you going? He's like, good man, good. Great event, right? I'm like, yeah. And he's like, I love it. You love it? I'm like, yeah.

unknown

That was it.

SPEAKER_00

It was so good. I was just like, me and Jocko are bros. We basically hang out. You know how it is. Jocko Malk. Bro, Echo is there. He's just hanging. There's heaps of Echo. Uh Echo is his partner in the podcast. Ah, right. Echo Charles. Yep. And yeah, he's actually a big rig himself. Like he's quite tall. He's quite a thick, thick human. Joko, a short guy? He's on the shorter side. Yeah, okay. Um, we are a similar height, I would say. Yeah. But his arms are definitely bigger than mine. Wow. Yeah. I mean, who's measuring the upper body? No, it's just when you stand next to a person, you're like, oh, wow. Relative thickness. The dysmorphia kicks in hard. And his daughter, no, no, no, no. He he's he's he's actually he's such a friendly guy. You know how everyone always knows him for that. Good. He's not you just he's he's lovely. I I I I think Jocko's a very friendly person. And his daughter Raina was there, Rana. I'm sorry, don't know how to say her name. She's cool, she's having a good time, she's on UFC BJJ. There's just so many people there, and it really struck me that everybody was so excited for the thing. There was some great matches, there's some challenges in there, there's some famous people in there, but even though it's a small amphitheatre, there's probably only a couple hundred people that can sit in the kind of meta apex setup. I was like, this is fucking great. When you say meta apex, that's the that's their studio. Right. It's not related to meta in any way. I honestly don't know. Okay. I I I have no idea. I mean, who knows? Maybe they build it, but yeah, it's the USC's building. Right.

Why UFC Runs Cleaner Events

SPEAKER_00

And they do all the makeup there, the media there, and they do their filming there with the uh I didn't get to see the octagon, but I got to see backstage where they do Wayne's and backstage where the warm-up area is and all of that. And there's so much staff, all these young people running all the social media, like it is such an operation. I think what people can't appreciate when you hear bad things about how the UFC runs its business, it's possibly because somebody didn't get the right size check. It's not because they didn't look after people. It is the most professional setup I have ever seen. And I've been backstage at the ADCC and I've seen behind the curtain at CJI, and those athletes aren't getting treated that well. Absolutely. Like in terms of Yeah, but I mean, just to I I think just to temper that comment, that it's walked into a much easier game to win with jujitsu because the the standard of care and remuneration for jujitsu is fucking down here. No, but the standard of care for MMA is much higher. Okay, so the most recent ADCC, which was at T Mobile Arena, everybody's still squashed into you still have Yeah, but that's what I mean. It's still low level. No, no, no, no, no, no. But they spent millions of dollars. No, no, no. So stay with me now. I've been backstage at the ADCC and I saw the situation that the that they're in, and they're still trying to roll on mats that are barely pieced together, you know, people on top of each other, like it's not a good setup. Whereas at um at the UFC setup, like obviously they have millions and millions of dollars, so that's why they have that. But you could see as to why someone would be looking at that as a pro athlete and go, oh, this is how it's done. You know what I mean? Like of course, but my point still stands. It's it's they've come into an easier market, right? It's it's it's easy for the UFC to come into that and go, we're gonna raise the standard. Yeah, it's but what I'm saying is sure, but both the ADCC and CJI could have put money into looking after the athletes better behind the scenes. It's not that people didn't get paid or the show's not good. I'm saying that the experience from the athlete perspective, they had a better experience because it is literally how professional athletes should be treated. Like that's what it feels like to be an NBA athlete. That's what it feels like to be a pro soccer player. Because that's and and I think people it I know if I try to put myself in their shoes, I'd much rather get treated better and not necessarily have the biggest check, even though they are getting paid really well. No, you can't fault, you can't fault the fighters. Fucking earth. Like it's the best, it's the best opportunity they have. Yeah, yeah. So I'm just saying, like, no shit, they did a better job. It's fucking jujitsu, mate. No, but I don't even think you, I don't even think I'm not even saying, oh, it's jujitsu. I I think that's some of the best treatment athletes get, but obviously they've had many years through building up the professionalism of um MMA to already have all those systems and all of that stuff in place. So yeah, they have a huge advantage, and not just in in money, but just crazy levels of resources and also knowing how to run an event, you know. Like even if we think about the ADCC, um, so my friend Fabinho Koloy shout out, I was backstage with him warming up. It took almost two hours from when they called him to when he went out and rolled with PJ Barge. You know, it was like half an hour, stand here. This is where ADCC, yeah, half an hour. Go go stand over there, wait. Now go backstage, wait. Wait, wait, wait. And you're like, how do you stay warm for two hours? You're like, oh, I'm G'd up, I'm ready. You know, if you're at a tournament, you're like, you're on. You're like, you know, within five minutes, you kind of got to stay warm. But like, yeah, because of the level of production, I feel like that that's that was like a quite a negative uh experience for people performing at the ADCC at the last one. Who knows how it'll be in Poland? But man, amazing experience. I think I couldn't fault it even from the like you know, I wasn't backstage just before they walked out. I was in the audience watching the event, but it was it was amazing. I think if you're in Las Vegas and you you can get around it, it's yeah, it wasn't 100% sold out. It was like still seats available. Does Devante have

Contracts And What Comes Next

a contract? Um, I think at this stage it's a fight at a time, but then they a match at a time. But uh they don't call it a fight, guys. Hey, it's not a fight. Uh it's a grappling match. No, I it but I believe for certain people they may do. I think you might have said fighters in the episode. I mean Jack, can we go back and edit that out and change that to athletes? Grapplers. No, that's all I say all the time because it's easier. But maybe just say non-hobbyists so it's clear. Or professionals. Yeah. Um competitive jujitsu people. Uh athletes. No, I'm I'm just being lazy. But in truth, you reckon he'll get he'll get another he'll get another guy? I reckon so. Well, he won his first match and then he lost that one. But I I feel like because like Nicky Rod was there, right? And he'd cut to 205. And he looked so lean, so like gaunt and drawn. Who'd he compete against? Um he is a gentleman, I've forgotten his name, Brazilian guy but lives in the United States, really tough guy, middle heavyweight guy, but you know, it's it's Nicky Rod, man. He just comes out like a bulldozer, takes you down, takes you back, and it's very fast. You know, he's a really big frame guy for that weight. And he had lost at heavyweight, you know? Yeah. So even though he is exceptionally good, and you would say he could beat most heavyweights, they'd said go to 205. Wow. So I think he may be the next match with Mason. Oh wow. And that will be very interesting. Oh wow. Fuck, he would be tall again. I mean he's big. Yeah, and I mean even Devontae's a bit taller than Mason, but Mason's jacked. Like he's it's not like he's not an athletic guy. Um, yeah, man. So it's it'll be interesting to see what how it all evolves. Fuck yeah, here for it. Mate, fuck yeah. US C BJJ, check it out.
